We’re thrilled to announce the release of several major updates to the Gig Game social and party game platform, its open JS library, and the ever-popular Mobo Bingo. These updates bring enhanced functionality, greater flexibility, and polished features to improve your gaming experience. Let’s dive into the details!

Gig Game Updates

A New Era for the HUD System

The entire Heads-Up Display (HUD) system has been overhauled! We’ve separated it from the Hud JS library and reintroduced it as a standalone HTML component within the game launcher. This change paves the way for public and anonymous HUD systems, enabling you to host multiple HUDs on different screens or even embed them in a web page using iframes.

By decoupling the HUD code from the host system, we’ve also streamlined development for a cleaner, more maintainable architecture. Both Mobo Bingo and PhotoBomb now use this updated HUD system, and the older version will soon be retired.

Introducing "Hosted Client" Architecture

We’re excited to debut our new Hosted Client architecture, designed to support a new category of games we call casual couch games. Unlike our traditional Host Console + (JS/.NET) Engine setup, this architecture allows for:

  • Games that run exclusively on mobile devices without the need for a guided host.
  • Optional integration with .NET or JS engines for added versatility.

This feature expands the types of games developers can create, making it easier to design for different play styles and devices.

Game Server Farm for Enhanced Scalability

The Gig Game service has been upgraded with a robust game server farm to support future growth. Currently, the servers can handle 200,000 to 300,000 simultaneous connections—a capacity we’re far from reaching but designed to grow with us.

Here’s how it works: when a player starts a new game, the launcher assigns their session to the server with the lowest load. Servers self-manage every five minutes, cleaning up abandoned engines and reporting their current usage to the launcher. This system not only balances the load but also offers redundancy and lower latency for geographically distributed players.

Enhanced Game Profiles

Game profiles on the Gig Game platform now include:

  • Trailer videos, image galleries, and detailed credits formatted with Markdown.
  • Public landing pages to showcase games, with easy options to start a game or schedule events.
  • Basic service stats like view and play counts.

These enhancements make it simpler to market games online via Google Ads or other PPC services, helping developers attract more players.

Mobo Bingo Updates

A Professional New HUD

The HUD for Mobo Bingo has been completely rewritten to elevate its look and feel. While it still offers features like player-shared photos and interactive messaging, the new design is sleek and professional, positioning Mobo Bingo as a serious contender in the online bingo space. We couldn’t be more proud of how far it’s come!

Introducing "WORDO"

Say hello to WORDO, a fresh take on traditional bingo! Customize your bingo board with words related to your favorite topics. Whether you’re hosting a corporate event, celebrating a fandom, or creating a themed game night, WORDO has you covered. From trivia to pop culture, the possibilities are endless.

Support for Printed Bingo Cards

For those who prefer the tactile experience, Mobo Bingo now supports printed bingo cards. Players can print cards directly from the game using a portable photo printer, making it easy for everyone to join—even those less comfortable with digital interfaces.

What’s Next?

We’ve got even more exciting updates in the pipeline, so be sure to check back soon. Remember, the Gig Game platform and Mobo Bingo are currently free during the BETA period. If you encounter any bugs or have feedback, please let us know at support@sparkinnovationscorp.com.
